There's nothing like backpacking in the Ozarks on a cool, clear Autumn day, and nobody else can outfit you for your backpacking and camping trips like Pack Rat Outdoor Center. We have a huge selection of top quality backpacking gear, including tents by Sierra Designs and North Face and Mountain Hardwear, backpacks by Dana Designs, Osprey, Mystery Ranch and Jansport, sleeping bags by North Face, Mountain Hardwear, and Western Mountaineering, sleeping pads by Cascade Designs, cookware by Mountain Safety Research, and boots by Lowa, Vasque, and Salomon. We also have tough, comfortable outdoor clothing to keep you hiking in warm comfort year-round. And our large selection of maps, trail guidebooks, compasses, and GPS receivers will help make sure you can find your way to any destination you can think of (and probably a few you can't!). We simply have the largest and most diverse selection of the best backpacking and camping gear in the area.

Most of our staff are avid backpackers, and our resident expert on backpacks, Jason, can answer any questions you have about backpacking. And, as any experienced backpacker will tell you, even a great pack or hiking boot design will be a huge headache (or more precisely a backache or foot ache) if it doesn't fit you. That's why our staff members are trained to fit our boots (most of our employees have been trained by boot-fitting guru Phil Oren) and packs to you, and they'll take the time to make sure the fit is perfect, so you can bypass the aches and blisters and concentrate on taking in the scenery. Come in and let us help you get outfitted for the trails.
